Learning new words and remembering them is hard right? No problem, I have a technique to help you, it’s known as MPF: Meaning, Pronunciation & Form (MPF). So how does it work? Ok let’s say you wanted to learn the word “Lucky”. Firstly I’d try to see if you could recall the word with prompting. Once we have the word I’d then make sure you understood it e.g. “If I won the lottery would I be lucky?”, “If you fell off your bike is that lucky?”, “If you won a free holiday is that lucky?”. If you answered yes, no & yes we then rehearse saying the word out loud to focus on pronunciation. For example, repeat the sentence, “Lucky me, today I won a holiday to Rome”. Then finally we write down the word lucky and identify its form as an adjective. Job done, finished!
